Warlingham Rugby Club Classic Vehicle Show 20th July 2025
The day started very wet and continued with on and off showers which reduced attendance by around 1/3rd. Simon Smith brought the SNOC stand which included the Gazebo which provided shelter from the rain. Many thanks Simon from everyone that attended!
Simon brought his black 1972 750cc Norton Commando which has done less than 20,000 miles from new!
Dave Brown brought his silver 1957 350cc Model 50 fitted with Borrani rims. Accompanying this was his 1958 600cc Dominator 99 café racer. This is an ex-race bike and runs just a mag. The lighting is total loss driven off a battery.
John Summerfield brought his 1951 490cc ES2 Garden Gate (Plunger) single. In fact, he rode it to the event without issue as a test ride with its first outing in the rain since buying it in 2024.
Ken Rawlinson brought his 1962 650cc pre-unit Triton special, fitted with Grimeca twin leading shoe front brake, Triumph conical rear hub and 5-gallon aluminium tank and twin concentric Amal carbs.
Ken also brought his 1985 Bitter SC car built by Eric Bitter in Germany. This has 3.9 litre straight 6-cylinder engine based on the Opel Senator. This is a rare car with only 400 made and only 28 known in the UK.
Despite only having 5 bikes on the stand due to the inclement weather, we still had quite a few visitors and interest in the bikes and potential new members. Also, a special note of appreciation for other members who attended to support and assist the club. Thank You!
This year we didn’t win any awards but a 2012 Suzuki did! So that must be a classic!
We will be back next year bigger and better to enjoy another excellent event at Warlingham Rugby Club!
