Another great show at Ardingly
After our member Anthony Curzon scooped the top prize at the last show, it perhaps wasn’t surprising that this time we weren’t so lucky. David Carpenter’s lovely Model 30 International and Ken Rawlingson’s magnificent Commando Racer were just two of the great bikes we had on the stand. Roger Deadman managed to bring three bikes, A lovely Manx, a WD Model 16h and and earlier civilian version.
My own S type unfortunately disgraced itself by sprinkling the floor with oil but at least I rode it there!. There were some excellent bikes on the other stands and the quality just keeps improving. The Francis Barnett stand won the ‘Best Stand’ Prize and I really hope we can put up a better show at the next occasion to give them and the excellent BSA Cafe some competition!
The Show is sponsored by the Real Classic Magazine and coincided with their 10th Anniversary. This meant that despite the lack of prizes, a number of members at least carried away a free T Shirt and a piece of Cake.
